Our aim is to give residents a trustworthy, easy-to-use source of information, ideas and services to help maintain independence and well-being. It is aimed at the older adult population of these boroughs, people with living with disabilities of whatever kind and those who care for people within the boroughs.
The collaboration of the three boroughs uniquely allows residents to identify and choose services regardless of borough boundaries. We’ve pooled our resources to try to give you the best possible range of information and choices.
We called the website “Choose My Support” because we aim to treat people as experts on their own lives and issues, looking at the bigger picture, not just a specific need. We want residents to feel in control of their own lives and the choices they have available to them. We aim to facilitate people feeling part of things, living with pride and dignity as part of the local community and having people choose their own support.
We’ve tried to do this by providing simple navigation, with specially commissioned illustrations, giving the site a bright, friendly and informative feel, and used language that people themselves use, not jargon.
The website is also for the use of professionals, health and care services, and anybody with an interest in adult social care issues.
