Getting started: a step-by-step guide to planning care

Step 1

Use the ‘search for support’ to find what you are looking for. When you click onto services and products, you will find a list of everything available. Or you can type in what you are looking for.

If you put in your post code, this will help you to find only the services in your area.

You do not have to register or ‘sign-in’ to find what services or products are available.

Step 2

If you are happy with the service or product you have found, you will need to be registered as a ‘customer’. You will be asked to provide some brief details about yourself, this will mean that the next time you use the website you will only need to give your chosen’user name’ and ‘password’.

Step 3

Before you decide whether or not to buy a service, you can ask to be contacted and talk about what you need in more detail. You can also ask about the price or by clicking onto the ‘request a quote’ button, the provider will get back to you.

You will also be asked to enter your email address. If you need help setting up your own email account; please visit the go-on website.

Step 4

Once you are happy, you can buy the service or product through ChooseMySupport. Just follow the instructions as you go along.

If you do not need to pay VAT (Value Added Tax) for certain products, make sure you tick the box. You may be asked for proof of this when your product is delivered.

Step 5

After you have received the service or product, you will be asked if you would like to give some comments about it. You can do this without giving any details about yourself. Your comments will be added to a ‘star rating’ which tells other people how good the service is.

If you are unhappy about the service or product you can always talk to the service provider about this or you can make a complaint. The provider will tell you how to do this.

If you find a technical problem with the website you will need to contact [email protected]

At any time you can go back to the Home Page by clicking on the ChooseMySupport logo on the top left hand side of the screen.
